As a Dane you must be thinking "How can I make my office as clean as possible?"

And don't worry! I have the answers you are seeking!:)

But before we delve into it I want to let you know how much I appreciate your intention to keep your environment clean for yourself, your collages and for your clients!

So, lets see what are the best cleaning practices for keeping an office clean and up to Danish standards:

Do regular Office cleaning

A crucial part in keeping your office clean is maintenance.

It is advisable to do daily cleaning, even if it's not a "deep cleaning".

This includes basic things like:

  • Taking out the trash (This is important as bacteria indoors double every 20-30 minutes, leave some organic waste unattended for too long, and you might be facing an office wide bacteria outbreak).

  • Disinfecting door handles and toilet seats (toilet seats are self explanatory, in an ideal world it would be disinfected after every use. But according to some sources door handles contain even more bacteria than toilet seats!)

  • Vacuum and wash often used areas. (Especially entrances and reception. As these are the areas that are most used)

  • Dusting (Dust can accumulate rather quickly. In busy offices and areas dust that has previously settled can be lodged into the air because of all the movement. Dust doesn't just carry contaminants, it can actively worsen already existing allergies or aid in developing new allergies. When dusting: ALWAYS go from top to bottom)

  • Spot cleaning (If you see mud spots, or other food spots on walls or flat surfaces, it is best practice to wipe that off as soon as possible. While spots are not as dangerous to your health, they really don't look well, especially when dealing with customers.)

If you keep these in mind, and follow these general maintenance practices, you will only have to do a deeper cleaning once every while (depending on your need).

Of course there are more things you can do to keep an office immaculate.
For example:

-Window cleaning

-Kitchen cleaning

-De-calcifying toilets and sinks and kitchen

-Main cleaning (often referred to as "deep cleaning")

-And much much more.

But with this in mind, you have a good basic start to avoid contamination and other outbreaks.
