I know its interesting for me as a foreigner cleaning lady in Copenhagen to know so much about Danish culture and statistics regarding cleaning.

But throughout my career in Denmark as a cleaner I have managed to pick up a few things from Danish employers and collages that I will be happy to share with you here. :)

This will cover some cultural facts, and some non-culture related, but good to know facts about cleaning that is still highly relevant to your office life and health in Denmark.

So with that said, Here are some top Danish facts about cleaning and contamination you must know!

Fact nr1: Office keyboards are rarely being sanitized. Therefore they can contain more viruses and bacteria than toilet seats.

Fact nr2: A clean and healthy office can increase morale and customer satisfaction up to 500% when compared with worn down, rarely cleaned offices.

Fact nr3: The first thing a customer sees and judges you by is your employee's cleanliness and your environment's cleanliness.

Fact nr4: According to a study, in 2024 Denmark is the cleanest country in the world!

Fact nr5: Carpets without proper deep cleaning are one of the dirtiest and unhealthiest things in an office. Unmaintained carpets can be a host to several unwanted things, including mites, mold, fungus, dead bugs. Carpets are effective at catching dust, but they also keep dust and other particles unless they are vacuumed often.

Fact nr6: Danes are taught from childhood to be environment conscious and to take responsibility for littering.

Fact nr7: in 2019 Denmark launched a project to use drones for trash cleanup (did you ever ran into one of these drones maybe?)

Fact nr9: Using alcohol based disinfectant regularly can reduce absence due to infection by up to 20%
